Schwig’s Garden Box is an innovative approach to sustainable gardening. It is a specially designed floating, raised garden bed that allows gardeners of all to grow vegetables, produce or even flowers. Compatible with the Connect-A-Dock modular system or to an existing floating dock with a speciality designed attachment kit, Schwig’s Garden Box can be used on any body of water, such as water retention basins, farm ponds and lakes, or even on flood-prone lands within municipalities.
The patent-pending design reflects a 4’X8′ modular base with a 13 inch garden depth equating to a maximum of 20 cubic feet.

Mulberry Farm and Food Agrihood
Floating Agrihood
In 2024, Mulberry Farm & Food will expand to include a 4-acre Agrihood, which will use the Schwig’s Garden Boxes.
When completed, produce grown in the Garden Box and harvested by Central Iowa Shelter and Services will be used to prepare nutritious meals for guests in the emergency shelters and community kitchen, as well as at other meal sites throughout Des Moines.
